This new production directed by Nicola Berloffa moves the action from its original setting to the Japan of the Second World War, with the aim of reflecting on the conflict between two different worlds and the condition of women. The geisha Cio-Cio-San, the Japanese bride who was deceived by an American soldier and played by Maria José Siri, is here the owner of a cinema for United States citizens screening films by Esther Williams. Antonello Palombi portrays Pinkerton and Manuela Custer is Suzuki.
