Norma at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie

Massimo Zanetti conducts Bellini's Norma in Liège

Bellini’s most famous work had a chaotic inception, victim of cabals and jealousies. “Norma” has however been able to prevail by the extreme quality of its music and the flourishing belcanto which makes its vocal lines the most attractive melodies and simultaneously, the most difficult ones. If the famous Casta diva, Norma’s well-known aria, has become the symbol of Italian opera, the many cavatines and cabalettes that dot the score require performers in possession of rare qualities of power, range, flexibility and agility. This new production of the Royal Opera of Wallonie-Liège will be one of the essentials of the season.

Patrizia Ciofi is Norma, Gregory Kunde sings Pollione and Josè Maria Lo Monaco is Adalgisa.

The performances take place on October 19, 22, 25, 28, 31 and November 4.
